Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Regular Oral Checkup.

For most children we recommend checkups every six months. Younger children or those with decay risk may need more frequent visits; frequency is tailored to oral health, growth stage, and your dentist’s assessment.

The exam includes tooth and gum inspection, bite and jaw assessment, plaque evaluation, and preventive cleaning. We screen for decay and developmental issues, provide fluoride or sealants when appropriate, and offer home care guidance for parents.

X-rays aren’t always needed at every checkup. We take them selectively based on age, risk factors, and clinical findings. If recommended, we’ll explain why, the type used, and safety measures before proceeding.

Prepare by scheduling at a calm time, bringing comfort items, and explaining the visit positively. Encourage normal brushing but avoid heavy snacks. Our staff will greet and gently introduce instruments to reduce fear and build trust.

Routine checkups and cleanings are typically painless. Some children may experience mild sensitivity during cleaning or if treatment is needed. Our team uses gentle techniques and child-friendly communication to minimize discomfort and manage any anxiety.

Follow-up may include home care tips, scheduling preventive treatments like fluoride or sealants, arranging restorative work if decay is found, or setting recall intervals. We send clear instructions and coordinate appointments for any recommended care.
