Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about CBC & OPG Scan.

We use a state-of-the-art CBCT machine for 3D imaging and a digital orthopantomogram for 2D panoramic views. The process is quick, non-invasive, and guided by our specialist to capture precise images for diagnosis and treatment planning.

Yes. CBCT and OPG use low-dose digital radiography. Exposure is minimized by modern equipment, protective measures, and only when clinically indicated. Benefits of accurate diagnosis outweigh the small radiation risk compared to older imaging methods.

No significant preparation is required. You may be asked to remove jewelry, eyeglasses, or metal objects from the head and neck area. Pregnant patients must inform us; alternative options or postponement will be discussed for safety.

Preliminary images are available immediately; detailed reports and interpreted scans are usually ready within 24-48 hours. For implant planning we provide annotated 3D renderings and a treatment-focused report during your follow-up consultation.

Yes. OPG and CBCT reveal bone loss patterns, abscesses, and anatomical changes associated with periodontal disease and infections. While soft tissue detail is limited, the scans are excellent for assessing bony involvement and guiding further treatment.

Absolutely. CBCT provides 3D bone volume, density, and nerve mapping essential for precise implant angulation and sizing. OPG offers a panoramic overview. Together they form the gold standard for safe, predictable implant treatment planning.
